Karimnagar: About 6,500 youth from 10 mining areas across four districts were recruited by several Hyderabad-based private companies from the mega job mela organised by Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). This mela was held from January 27 to February 1.

For the first time in the history of Indian Coal Industry, the SCCL organised the mega job mela, where thousands of youth from mining areas took part. Unemployed youth with 10th, Intermediate, Degree, PG and ITI Diplomas qualifications utilised this opportunity and were selected for jobs.

The job mela covered Srirampur, Ramagundam-3, Kothagudem, Bhupalpally, Mandamarri, Ramagundam-2, Yellandu, Bellampally, Ramagundem-1 and Manuguru areas.

N Sridhar, CMD SCCL stated that the initiative was taken up by the company as part of the Chief Minster’s target to provide employment for youth. “We propose to organise job melas once in every three months for providing employment for youth in coal belt area,” he said.
