Luxettipet (Adilabad): People, of late, have started making beeline to the government hospital here as patient care has improved. Perhaps for the first time, all the beds in the government hospital are full. Between 150 and 200 patients visit hospital a day.

It may be recalled that The Hans India brought to light the pathetic state of affairs in the hospital through its columns on January 23, 2016. Consequently, the hygiene and sanitation in and around the hospital improved, duty doctors are promptly reporting to duty and pharmacy has been stocked with adequate medicines including those for snake and dog bites.

Drawing and Disbursing Officer Dr Rakesh, Hospital Medical Officers Sailaja, Sunita and Sekhar are administering treatment to patients. Special attention is being paid to ensure expectant mothers to ensure normal delivery of babies.

Gynaecologists in the hospital advise pregnant women against visiting private nursing homes since better amenities to undergo institutional deliveries at government hospital are readily available. They appeal to people not to spend their hard-earned money by seeking medical treatment in private hospitals and asked them to remove from their minds that the medical care in government hospitals was not good.
