The eighth edition of the multi sports tournament, Inter School Premier League (ISPL) will kick start at Pallavi model School and DPS Nacharam from February 12. The event is the biggest platform for more than 100 schools that are participating to showcase their sporting excellence and is organised by The Sports Gurukul (TSG), India’s premier sports and fitness training and development center for schools.
According to Jay Shah, co-founder and director of TSG said, “The success of the past years tournaments has provided us with the much needed encouragement to strive harder and come up with a better, superior and more enhanced Premier League this year. Our mission is to develop and bring world class athletes on a common platform and hope to have at least one of our students representing India at the 2020 Olympic Games.”
Paresh Kothari, Co founder and Director, The Sports Gurukul, said, “Participating in sports helps children to inculcate a sense of camaraderie, team spirit and a competitive attitude which prepares them to take on new challenges and meet the demands of the world.”
“As token of appreciation and to encourage kids for sports at very young age we give away medals to every kid under the age of 10 years,” he added. On the occasion of launch of ISPL-Hyderabad-Chairman Komraiah, Director Sushil, Director Srinivas and Principal Aruna Rao of Pallavi Model School said, "We applaud The Sports Gurukul for its untiring efforts to promote sports in India from the grass roots level.
Tournaments such as the The Sports Gurukul Inter School Premier League provide children with the much needed platform to play and enjoy multiple sports of their choice. It is our sincere belief that India is a country with a vast pool of talent and it is only a matter of identifying that talent and grooming it in the right direction in order to create sports stars of tomorrow.”
