Ola introduces carpool in Hyderabad

Shared mobility makes for economical fares, since a ride can now be shared by up to three people at any point in time

Ola has announced the launch of Ola Share, the social ride-sharing platform in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Users who travel on the same routes, such as colleagues from a workplace or friends from a college can now use the feature to share their cab rides.

In case you end up sharing rides with strangers, all of Ola’s security features like Track your Ride, Share Ride Details, SOS, Emergency Contacts, 24x7 Customer Support and In-trip feedback are available for users on Ola Share.

As soon as a user requests a Share ride on the Ola app, they will be matched with other users from their groups along their way. Driver-partners get an option to log onto the Share platform, getting instant access to increased revenue of up to 50 per cent, through continuous fulfillment of booking requests.

According to recent data released by Ola - Hyderabad is the third slowest city in the country, with citizens battling traffic and on-road congestion especially in nerve centres like Hitec city, Somajiguda, Secunderabad and Mehdipatnam. Shared mobility can go a long way in contributing towards de-congestion and reduced pollution in the city.
