Samsung Electronics on Thursday unveiled two new smartphones - Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 - at its Southwest Asia Forum 2016 in Kuala Lumpur. The former is priced at Rs 29,400, while the latter carries a price tag of at Rs 33,400.

Commenting on the launch, Manu Sharma, director, Mobiles Business, Samsung India Electronics said, “At Samsung, we are committed to continued innovation, inspired by the deep understanding and insights from our wide range of consumers.

Continuing the Galaxy A legacy in India, the Galaxy A7 (2016) and the Galaxy A5 (2016) come with a stunning glass and metal design and Flagship like features such as enhanced camera, long lasting battery space with fast charging capability and a powerful Octa-Core processor that can tackle heavy usage.”

The new 4G-enabled Galaxy A5 and A7 borrow the design language from the flagship Galaxy S6 and also include a fingerprint sensor. The new phones look the same, but they vary a little in terms of size and some specs.

While the Galaxy A5 has a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED full HD display, the A7 features a 5.5-inch full HD display. Also, the former has 2 GB of RAM, while the latter includes 3 GB of RAM.

In terms of other specifications, both the new Galaxy phones have an octa-core processor, 13 megapixel rear camera, 5 megapixel front camera, and a fast charging feature. The phones include an internal storage space of 16 GB, with support for up to 128 GB of microSD card.

The Galaxy A5 comes packed with a 2900 mAh battery and the A7 with a 3300mAh one. The new Galaxy phones will come in three colours - Gold, Black, and White.
