In a first-of its kind act, the officials of the rank of ASO (Assistant Section Officer) to Joint Secretary in the Irrigation department from Telangana Secretariat on Saturday embarked on a two-day official tour to study the technology used in the irrigation projects and challenges faced in the preservation of water bodies and tanks across the State.

Hyderabad: In a first-of its kind act, the officials of the rank of ASO (Assistant Section Officer) to Joint Secretary in the Irrigation department from Telangana Secretariat on Saturday embarked on a two-day official tour to study the technology used in the irrigation projects and challenges faced in the preservation of water bodies and tanks across the State.

As many as 75 officials including 30 women employees joined the tour who visited the tunnel constructed under AMRP project in Nalgonda district on the first day. Accompanied by project engineers, the team entered the tunnel from the exit point and examined the functioning of machines used for lifting water.

The team also visited AMRP canal head regulator and Akkampali water reservoir taken up under the project. Earlier, they visited a water body revived under the Mission Kakatiya recently at Imrahimpatnam in Ranga Reddy district.
