The ‘Celebrity Playoff’ had women from all walks of life who participated on the concluding day of the ‘Cancer Crusaders Invitation Cup 2016’ at HICC in Hitec City on Monday. The event was organised to celebrate womanhood and was played under floodlights on 18th hole as part of the fundraiser and cancer awareness initiative by Cancer Crusaders.

The ‘Celebrity Playoff’ had women from all walks of life who participated on the concluding day of the ‘Cancer Crusaders Invitation Cup 2016’ at HICC in Hitec City on Monday. The event was organised to celebrate womanhood and was played under floodlights on 18th hole as part of the fundraiser and cancer awareness initiative by Cancer Crusaders.

The participants included Swathi Lakra, Additional Commissioner of Police and Chief of the ‘She’ teams; Dr Christina Z Chongthu, MD, Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation; Sangita Reddy, Jt. MD, Apollo Hospitals; Shilpa Reddy, Fashion Designer and Mrs India; Dr P Shashikala Reddy, Doctor; Saptala Reddy, Entrepreneur and actresses Lakshmi Manchu, Rakul Preet Singh and Madhu Shalini.

Each player was given a ball with her name written on it. Each of them had to putt the ball in a designated hole on the putting greens. They had to reach closer to the hole and the farthest one was eliminated in each round.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr Vijay Anand Reddy, Founder, CURE Foundation and Director, Apollo Cancer Hospital, Hyderabad, said, “Cancer in children is curable to a large extent. Almost 90 per cent of them get cured if provided with timely and proper treatment.

The CURE Foundation supports underprivileged children to get treatment at Apollo Cancer Hospital.” “Cancer Crusaders Invitation Cup is being hosted for the last eight years to create Cancer awareness and raise funds to support the initiatives of CURE foundation,” he added.
