TiE Hyderabad organised a Business Plan Competition as part of its third season of The Young Entrepreneurship (TyE) programme at T-Hub in Gachibowli on Sunday. 

TiE Hyderabad organised a Business Plan Competition as part of its third season of The Young Entrepreneurship (TyE) programme at T-Hub in Gachibowli on Sunday. During the past few months, students [of grades 9-12] from 25 different schools went through a rigorous curriculum on entrepreneurship development.

The participants interacted with young as well as seasoned entrepreneurs and discovered what it takes to be successful in life and business. After months of training, participating teams presented their business plans at the competition. Team InfraDetect was declared as the winners with team members Saranga pagadala (Oakridge School), Alsmith Angelina (DRS International School), Cynthia (DRS International School), NSSS Anvesh (Lotus national school) and Mitali Ganeriwal (Glendale Academy).

Their business plan comprised a product for protection of eyesight from Television. The team will compete at the International TyE Finals that will be held in Portland later this year. Team MELIOR was declared as the Runners-up of TYE Business plan competition whose members were Aashna Golla (Open Minds, A Birla School), Vishal Ladha (Gitanjali School), Advait Modi (Meridian School), Rafat (Naryana Junior College) and Manasva Reddy (St. Joseph’s Public School). Their business plan was a product for protection from mosquitoes through sonic rays.

The panel of judges included Prof. Arun Pereira (Executive Director, ISB centre of teaching and learning), Safir Adeni (Managing Director, Ineda Group) and Syam Peela (President and founder, Innominds). Speaking at the event, president of TiE Hyderabad Suresh Challa said, “TiE believes that ‘Today’s Youth are Tomorrow’s Entrepreneurs’. Suresh Challa announced that TiE-Hyderabad will be coming up with fund of Rs 10 lakh for prototype building.

“Any student who wants to build a prototype can seek fund from TiE-Hyderabad,” he said. Students from top schools of twin cities that included Obul Reddy Public School, Gitanjali Senior School, Glendale Academy, Oakridge international, Open Minds-a Birla school, Chaitanya Techno School, Chirec International, CMR High School, Delhi Public School, DRS International School, Future Kids School, Kalpa School, Lotus National School, Meridian School and Narayana Junior College participated in the programme.
