New Delhi: A delegation of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, consisting of chief spokesperson D Sravan and others, complained to the Chief Election Commission that the EVMs were tampered during the CHMC elections.

Talking to the media here on Monday, D Sravan, said it was regrettable that the TRS government had resorted to tampering of the results by manipulating the EVMs. This charge could be proved by the fact even those votes polled by the Congress candidates in fray in the GHMC were not displayed in favour of the Congress during the counting.

He cited the claim made by the TRS in the run to the elections that it would bag 100 seats had gone to prove that it had a specific target and accordingly tampered with the EVMs with the help of officials. In view of the by-elections to the Narayankhed Assembly segment, the Congress had similar apprehensions that EVMs would be tampered there too.

Hence, the CEC should arrange the election by ballot or conduct the elections by attaching printers to the EVMS, so that any attempt to tamper the EVMS could be detected, he said. Accusing the TRS leadership of holding fraudulent elections, they said even the option of NOTA was deleted as the colour of the button was pink. Sravan said his party would take up the issue with not only the Centre but all other opposition parties.
