Hyderabad: Telangana TDP (TTDP) took the ruling TRS party to task for luring the MLAs and leaders of other parties, terming it as making a mockery of democracy.

  • TRS flayed for luring MLAs and leaders of other parties

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, TTDP president L Ramana and working president A Revanth Reddy accused the TRS of using all possible tactics and foul means to woo the opposition MLAs.

They alleged that the Chief Minister was conspiring to wipe out the opposition parties from the State. The TTDP leaders averred that the ruling party was intimidating the leaders of other parties and making them fall in line.

They called upon the other political parties to take a serious look at the way the defections are being encouraged by the TRS party and sought for the necessary amendments to the Anti-defection Law.

The leaders have pointed out that the Speaker and the Governor were not taking action on the defectors despite constant complaints from opposition parties due to their bias towards the ruling party.

Ramana demanded the resignations of turncoat MLAs and dared them to face fresh elections. Revanth Reddy said the TRS had no intention to respect the opposition space and alleged that the Chief Minister had kept the development of the State aside and focused on blackmailing politics.
