Hyderabad: Soon after assuming charge as Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) K Taraka Rama Rao on Tuesday directed the officials in the city limits to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) in order to implement 100 days action plan for all-round development of the Hyderabad.

KTR held a meeting with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) and other department officials and asked them to prepare a DPR for 100 days action plan to complete the pending works and initiate developmental activities in the city limits.

It is learnt that KTR told the officials to prepare action plans which include short-term, mid-term and long-terms. He also asked the officials to submit the reports of their respective departments at the review meeting to be held on Wednesday at the Secretariat.

KTR proposed development plans including, speeding up the Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP), laying roads, efficient solid waste management, construction of foot over bridges, expediting Hyderabad Metro Rail project, beautification of the Musi river, purification of Hussain Sagar, improving sewerage network, speeding up the reservoir construction plans at Keshavapuram and Devalamma Nagaram, identifying land to construct two bedroom houses for the urban poor, to improve security in the specifically in the IT corridors, improve drinking water facilities in the peripheral areas in the city limits.

KTR even passed orders to all newly-elected Corporators to get into the business immediately after the Mayor election on February 11. He asked them to be in constant touch with the people and see that all the promises t made during the elections are fulfilled.

He is also said to have told them that unlike in the past the GHMC should meet frequently and ensure that all the schemes are effectively implemented. The corporators may even get about Rs 1.5 crore as constituency development fund, sources added.
