Jewellers observe bandh
Members of the jewellery trade in the city and across Telangana shut their shops on Wednesday as part of All India Jewellers’ bandh call given by trade bodies in protest against the government’s rule mandating pan card for sales or purchases exceeding Rs 2 lakh.“The bandh call has received overwhelming success as this rule will have huge impact on our business.

In city alone, about 1,500 shops were closed and the revenue loss on account of the bandh runs into hundreds of crores,” said Mohanlal Jain, Zonal Member-South, All India Gem & Jewellery Trade Federation and President, Pot Market Jewellers Association. He further said that the bandh call evoked huge response in the districts such as Nalgonda, Nizamabad, Warangal and others.
