Model School teachers withdraw agitation
The State government has assured protesting Model School Teachers that their long pending demands will be resolved in a phased manner. Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari, who held a meeting with the protesting teachers at Secretariat here on Wednesday, assured them that the government would implement 10th  Pay Revision Commission (PRC) in 10 days.

Hyderabad: The State government has assured protesting Model School Teachers that their long pending demands will be resolved in a phased manner. Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari, who held a meeting with the protesting teachers at Secretariat here on Wednesday, assured them that the government would implement 10th Pay Revision Commission (PRC) in 10 days.
Telangana Model Schools Teachers Association President B Kondaiah said the Minister had also promised to appoint wardens in the hostels. He said all the demands would be resolved in a phased manner. “With assurance from the Minister, we called off relay hunger strike. We will wait, if government doesn’t implement we will chalk out future plan of action,” Kondaiah said.
The Model Schools Teachers had been on warpath for the last three days demanding implementation of PRC and issuing of health cards, etc. Meanwhile, the government also assured the school teachers that their grievance would be redressed by May 31.
Telangana State United Teachers’ Federation General Secretary Chava Ravi said the Minister had told the teachers that long pending demand for implementation of service rules would be resolved by May 31. He said the government had agreed to upgrade Pandit and physical education teacher posts from secondary grade teachers to school assistants. With an assurance from the government, the teachers postponed their proposed State “maha dharna” on February 16.
