The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) which is spending crores of rupees in bringing water from Krishna and Godavari to the city is reeling under a financial crisis. In a bid to improve its revenues, a review meeting was held recently in which it was decided to review the status of meters, billing pattern, verification of disconnected connections and change of categories among other issues.
The executive director M Satyanarayana directed the GMs to improve collections by issuing timely bills, notices to defaulters, filing criminal cases by invoking RRAct. The Executive Director instructed in particular the Meter Readers to make 100 per cent billing and collection in view of recent waiver of arrears of water bills to improve Revenues of Board.
