A two judge bench of the High Court at Hyderabad comprising Acting Chief Justice Dilip B Bhosale and Justice SV Bhatt on Thursday refused to change the rules pertaining to filing of public interest litigations (PILs). The bench was dealing with a petition filed by Sravan Kumar, an advocate from Delhi.

The bench was dealing with a petition filed by Sravan Kumar, an advocate from Delhi.

The petitioner complained that the present rules created hurdles in filing public interest writ petitions. The bench declared that the rules were meant to see that genuine bona fide persons or organisations filed PILs that would have larger public interest.
