The United Forum for Quranic Studies (UFQS) will organise Quran reciting competition for the children aged below of 12 years age at Auto Nagar Technicians Hall in the city on February 14.

The United Forum for Quranic Studies (UFQS) will organise Quran reciting competition for the children aged below of 12 years age at Auto Nagar Technicians Hall in the city on February 14.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Forum Chairman Md Dawood said that competition was being organised to encourage children towards spirituality and to adopt the teachings of the Quarn in modern day life.

The competition will be held in two categories. About 1,200 students have enrolled their names including private institutions and government schools other than Madrasas come under the first category. In the second category, the competitions will be organised for the students of Madrasas.

Students from other than Muslim community were participating in the competition. Cash prizes of Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 will be given to the top three winners in each category.

Each participant will be given a cash incentive of Rs 1,000, a Quran, a memento and a certificate, he said. Forum coordinator Moulana Abdul Rehman and Muslim United Front State president Habibur Rehman were also present at the news conference.
