TRS hijacks MIM slogan
The All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) seems to be at a complete loss as its preferred slogan before the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections ‘Shahar Hamara, Mayor Hamara’ landed up in a huge billboard erected by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the city.

Hyderabad: The All-India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) seems to be at a complete loss as its preferred slogan before the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections ‘Shahar Hamara, Mayor Hamara’ landed up in a huge billboard erected by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) in the city.
It may be mentioned here that just before the GHMC elections, the MIM put up huge hoardings boasting their grip on the city with the slogan ‘Shahar Hamara, Mayor Hamara’ (city is ours and mayor is ours) at Darussalam.
But, now the TRS put up a huge vinyl sheet opposite the MIM’s billboard with the same message ‘Shahar Hamara, Mayor Bhi Hamara’, indicating their claim over the city as well as mayorship. “After enjoying power in Baldia for two terms, they wanted to end up as kingmakers and usurp power as they did during their previous stint. They are victims of their own crude satire,” observed M Venkatram Reddy, a resident of Saroornagar.
Meanwhile, newly-elected Mayor Bontu Ram Mohan said people in the city believed that he would do whatever Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao said and this ensured huge victory for the TRS in GHMC elections. He said the people of the city, irrespective of religion, caste and nativity, had voted for the TRS as they wanted to see Hyderabad getting developed into a world class city.
