Hyderabad: To make its own “mark” in the delivery of administration, Telangana State government will bring in new GO policy (meant for the issuance of government orders regularly) by annulling the present one in 10 days. The official website “goir. Telangana. gov.in,” the online platform for the display of all government orders, had already been dysfunctional.

The existing policy allowed more of “unnecessary” business like issuing routine(RT) government orders ranging from sanction of leaves to the officials , release of small amount for daily expenses and visits of the officials to outstations, a senior official said. “95 per cent of the GOs issued every year are only the RT orders and the rest of them are related to policy decisions and the execution of orders,” the official said.

The official said the new policy was aimed to reduce the burden on each department on the release of orders on each small issue and streamline the process for the issuance of the orders relating to important policy decisions only in each department. A four member official committee headed by Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma was already constituted and busy preparing new policy.

State IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan, Principal Secretary to Animal Husbandry Department Suresh Chanda and Finance Secretary Siva Shankar were the members of the committee. The committee is studying the Secretariat manual with regard to issuance of GOs adopted in the united AP and amend the manual as per the requirement of the state. Issuing GOs has been considered one of the important business rules in the state administration.
