Participants in the eighth edition of Inter School Premier League (ISPL) were treated to a rollicking time in the city on Sunday. Over 500, including girls, drawn from across 50 select schools in the twin cities competed for honours in the Under-6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 age-group events.

Elegance and acrobatic maneuvers from the nimble-footed was the feature when the skating event began at the state-of-the-art rink at Indira Park. The event got-off to glamourous beginning when multiple winning child prodigy Brahmesh Patel inaugurated the event, which is being organised by Sports Gurukul, a premier sports development promoter in the country.

ISPL, which is into its eighth year, also conducts competitions in cricket, football, basketball, table tennis, chess and tennis, according to Kush Modi from the Organising Committee. The League is endeavoured to provide platform for school children to showcase their sporting excellence and help them stay in the best of physical shape.

Other events will be held at various grounds, including Pallavi Model School-Boduppal and Delhi Public School in Nacharam. ISPL is also organised in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Amritsar, Pune and Mumbai. The toppers will be given training by celebrated international coaches.
