Khammam: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday gave a pat on the back of his nephew and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao for the TRS victory in Narayankhed by-poll in Medak district, the result of which was announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Speaking after laying foundation stone for ‘Bhakta Ramadas Project’ in Khammam, the Chief Minister congratulated Harish Rao for his tireless efforts that fructified with the positive result.

Extending greetings to the people of the constituency for the handsome majority offered to the TRS candidate Bhupal Reddy, Chandrashekar Rao said it was record of sorts that Narayakhed, once a Congress bastion, shifted its loyalty to the ruling TRS for development.

Appreciating Harish Rao for his impeccable leadership to get support from the people, Chandrashekar Rao also greeted the party leaders and activists on the occasion. He assured to keep all promises made during his election campaigning to develop Narayankhed on the lines of Siddipet, which is on fast pace of growth.

Meanwhile, expressing great pleasure at the landslide victory for the TRS in Narayankhed by-poll after the results were out, Panchayat Raj and Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao appreciated his cousin and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao for ensuring a cake-walk in Narayanhked by-election.

Rama Rao tweeted saying the TRS juggernaut continued to roll successfully. He congratulated Harish and Medak TRS leadership team for the thumping majority of over 50,000 votes in the by-poll. He ridiculed the TDP for not able to save its deposit in the by-poll.

“The TDP is a big loser in Telangana State since general elections till date,” he said. “The TDP should rename itself as Telanganalo Deposits Rani Party”, Rama Rao suggested. He also hoped that the TRS would win the forthcoming civic polls in Warangal and Khammam municipal corporations also.
