The 29th branch of State Bank of India along with a digital service centre, ‘e-corner’ was inaugurated at Gunadala in the city on Wednesday.

The 29th branch of State Bank of India along with a digital service centre, ‘e-corner’ was inaugurated at Gunadala in the city on Wednesday. The e-corner centre which offers digitalised experience of depositing cash, withdrawing, pass book printing besides other facilities is the fourth in the city. The branch was formally inaugurated by the bank’s Chief General Manager of Hyderabad Region Hardayal Prasad.

Speaking to the newsmen on the occasion, Hardayal Prasad said that the bank is keen on moving towards digitalisation. There are 40 e-corners across the two Telugu speaking States and the Vijayawada region (Krishna, East and West Godavari) is one of our biggest modules with 284 branches. Our application ‘Buddy ho toh Aisa’ has already 1 million users and is receiving positive feedback.

The bank is committed to encourage women entrepreneurs to develop on their own. Various loans for the SC, ST and backward women can be exercised at our banks which offer the lowest of interest rates on housing, vehicle, education and business loans, he said.

The bank is soon to open e-corner centres at the existing branches near Satyanarayanapuram and Gandhi Nagar by end of March. Another e-corner center at NRI branch, located opposite to Convent road junction is also inaugurated on the same day.

Also, the bank donated a mini bus to the School administration at the SBI Building as a part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. General Manager of Network 2 Ashwin Mehta, Deputy General Manager of Administration Office Rajiv Kohli, Regional Manager G V Sastry and branch manager Ch Ananda Kumar among other officers of the bank were present during the programme.
