Mumbai: The fact that they acquired Yuvraj Singh and Ashish Nehra at a very heavy price may be sitting heavily in the minds of the promoters of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

However, driven by the compulsive urge to draw some economic sense into their administration for the ninth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) they may have committed hara-kiri that could catch them on the wrong foot.

This comes in contrast to the cricketing sense that has been put into productive use by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Tuesday. There are no doubts that off-spinner Parvez Rasool and talented batsman KL Rahul will be assets in any team composition.

By acquiring the two, who represented Hyderabad in the previous edition, RCB has dealt a major blow to the aspirations of SRH in the tournament that begins on April 9 and climaxes on May 29.

Ironically, the Bangalore franchise had also gone into the biggest purchase of this season when they roped in Shane Watson for a whopping Rs 9.5 crore.

That apart they have in Virat Kohli and Chris Gayle two destructive hitters while Sunrisers will be devoid of the services of Dale Steyn, Kumar Sangakkara and Aaron Finch.
