KTR reviews budget proposals of PR, RD depts
Panchayat Raj Minster K T Rama Rao briefed the officials of the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development departments on the preparation of estimations for the next budget. The Minister held a review meeting with higher officials from both the departments on Wednesday.

The proposals to be included in the budget were reviewed in the meeting in which the officers explained the condition of roads to the Minister. As the government is giving priority to completion of the bridges this time, the Minister directed the officials to prepare details in this regard and formulate proposals to ensure that every gram panchayat got a black-topped road.
The government has taken the Mission Bhagiratha as the most prestigious one. The rural water supply officials were guided to prepare appropriate proposals as government is ready to allot more funds than earlier. As a part of Swachh Bharath, the department is planning to spend huge funds for building of toilets to reach the target of 55 lakh toilets to be built in this budget year.
Funds would be allotted to construct 1,000 gram panchayats offices and 1,064 anganwadi centres in the next budget, said the commissioner of the department in the meeting. Rama Rao released the New Year calendar of Society for Elimination of Poverty on the occasion in the presence of several officers.
