Sweet devotional offerings

A large number of devotees of Sammakka Saralamma were present at the Monda Market in Secunderabad to buy jaggery for offering to Goddess (Ammavaru) on Wednesday.

Gopu Rajamma (55), resident of Uppal, said, “We are visiting the Medaram Jatara for the past 40 years and we strongly believe these Vana Devathas, Sammakka and Saralamma have divine power to fulfill the wishes of the devotees, who are prospering year by year.”

Nishant, owner of Mankali Narsimha Rao, Jaggery Merchant at Monda Market, said, “We are selling white jaggery of three varieties, according to the choice of the customers. The minimum cost is Rs 30.50 paise per kg and other varieties at Rs 32 and 34 per kg.”
