Fight Maoists unitedly: Centre
The Centre is for joint crackdown on Maoists at Andhra-Odisha Border. The central government has instructed the four states --Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and Chattisgarh --affected by the left-wing extremism to have joint operation to flush out Maoists from Andhra Odisha Border (AOB).

The central government has instructed the four states --Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha and Chattisgarh --affected by the left-wing extremism to have joint operation to flush out Maoists from Andhra Odisha Border (AOB).
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh reviewed the Left Wing Extremism(LWE) scenario in Andhra Pradesh with Director General of Police J V Ramudu and other senior officials at Visakhapatnam on Thursday.
Sources revealed that the Union Government wanted the four Maoists-affected states to go in for joint operation as they share common borders.
It has also observed that while the respective states were taking up the combing operations, the Maoists were sneaking into the neighbouring states. This had resulted in the increase of Maoists activities after the bifurcation of the state.
It may be recalled that there have been incidents of kidnapping some people in the tribal areas of the AOB opposing the state government’s policy on bauxite mining and its decision to lay roads in remote areas as part of developmental programmes.
The Centre has also urged the four states to increase communication network particularly in the interior areas of AOB. The sources further said that the Union Home Minister had assured the states that it would extend liberal financial assistance to fight the Maoists. The Centre also suggested that more meetings should be held between the security agencies and civil police.
