The 12-city concert tour, ‘Idea Jalsa-Music for the Soul’ reached Hyderabad over the weekend much to the joy of music lovers in the city. The city of Nawabs witnessed a specially designed concept for Hyderabad “Shankar Shambhu Junior” where the next generations of Shankar Shambhi viz.

The 12-city concert tour, ‘Idea Jalsa-Music for the Soul’ reached Hyderabad over the weekend much to the joy of music lovers in the city. The city of Nawabs witnessed a specially designed concept for Hyderabad “Shankar Shambhu Junior” where the next generations of Shankar Shambhi viz.

Deepak Pandit, Ram Shankar, Rakesh Pandit, Sneha Shankar paid tribute to legendary Qawwal Shankar Shambhu followed by an act of live poetry and ghazals by Javed Akhtar, Ranjit Rajwada and Himani Kapoor.

Speaking at the event, ghazal maestro Ranjeet Rajwada said, “I respect this platform that values good singing and I am honored to be performing in Hyderabad.”

Durga Jasraj, Founder and Director, Art and Artistes said, “Hyderabad is like a second home to Bapuji and me. We share a special and emotional bond with this city. We wanted to create a unique concept for Hyderabad and that’s when we came up with “Shankar Shambhu Jr."

“This indeed was an opportunity for us to honor the legend of Qawwali and Hyderabad through music,” he added. Commenting on this occasion, Ramakrishna, COO, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Idea Cellular, said, “Idea Jalsa is a platform which brings together legends, maestros, stars, and rising stars from the Indian music fraternity, to present a rich and diverse showcase of Indian culture for all music enthusiasts across the country and champion Hindustani classical music.”

This is the tenth edition of the event and will travel to Dehradun, Thiruvananthapuram, Bhubaneshwar, Agartala, Indore, Ludhiana, New Delhi, Ambala, Pune with the finale in Bengaluru on March 26.
