Minister for Health and Medical Education Kamineni Srinivas along with Minister for Heavy Irrigation Devineni Umamaheswara Rao inaugurated the rehabilitation centre ‘Indla’s Shantivan’ for the psychologically disturbed patients at a sprawling three-acre-campus in Nunna near Vijayawada on Sunday.

Minister for Health and Medical Education Kamineni Srinivas along with Minister for Heavy Irrigation Devineni Umamaheswara Rao inaugurated the rehabilitation centre ‘Indla’s Shantivan’ for the psychologically disturbed patients at a sprawling three-acre-campus in Nunna near Vijayawada on Sunday.

The rehab centre is built in order to ensure that the in-patients are taken utmost care under surveillance of experienced staff in a 120 beds G plus 2 storey building. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Kmaineni appreciated the efforts of the rehab administration for coming out with an idea that provides comprehensive care for the mentally ill patients for their speedy recovery to normalcy.

He took a round at the campus and expressed his satisfaction about the amenities and outcome. Vijayawada Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (VIMHANS) chairman Dr Indla Ramasubba Reddy on the occasion explained about the features of rehab centre.

Special mention of the ‘Mind Museum’, which houses the chronology of Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuro Sciences from the Vedic period to Western findings along with ‘Mouna’, a spiritual centre for the uplift of patients was made.

VIMHANS Managing Director Dr Indla Vishal and other staff were present during the event. MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Gadde Rammohan, Zilla Parishad Chairperson G Anuradha among others were present.
