Warangal: Telangana government is committed for the welfare of the journalists, said the assembly speaker S Madhusudhana Chary. Speaking at the two-day national executive meeting of Indian Journalists Union (IJU) in Hanamkonda on Sunday he said the TRS government has been providing health cards and double bed room houses as part of its measures for the welfare of the journalists.

He said that in the past and in recent times the role of journalists in upholding the democratic values was crucial. The spread of media in India has been very rapid. The journalists should maintain balance news and views as many times and try to give the readers and viewers correct perspective of issues.

The speaker expressed pleasure over organizing the meeting in Warangal and appealed to the delegates who arrived here from different states to visit historic places in and around Warangal. The Dy.CM K Srihari, ministers T Harish Rao, E Rajender and A Chandulal addressed the scribes at the meeting. The IJU national president SN Sinha, secretary general D Amar, senior leader K Srinivas Reddy, senior journalists D Krishna Reddy, N Shekar, Sabeena, Prabhath Das and others were present.
