Dattatreya sore over smear campaign

Hyderabad: Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya on Tuesday expressed concern over disinformation being spread to slur his image in Rohith Vemula case in University of Hyderabad.

Dattatreya has reportedly informed the Lok Sabha that he never mentioned the name of Rohit Vemula in the letter which he had written to the HRD Minister. He expressed disgust over the Opposition parties trying to target him in the Rohith Vemula suicide case.

He said he had never committed any mistake in his political life and it was not proper to spread false information about him. “I fought for BCs and other downtrodden sections for years together and the Telugu speaking people knew about my career,” he said.
