Close on the heels of a brawl between an MLA and MLC of the ruling party in Nizamabad, Maheswaram MLA enters into a scuffle with local leaders

Hyderabad: It seems things are not all that hunky-dory for the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) as incidents of infighting in the party are being reported very often.

It was just a couple of days ago, in Nizamabad, a TRS MLA and a party MLC indulged in a scuffle, and on Tuesday, TRS workers in Maheshwaram constituency indulged publicly in a verbal war.

Maheshwaram mandal party president Koona Yadaiah and other senior leaders charged local MLA Teegala Krishna Reddy of being least bothered about the party leaders and workers in the constituency.

They alleged that the MLA did nothing to the constituency in the last two years. Reacting to the allegations, the MLA countered that he knew everything about them and challenged them to do what they wished to do.

The incident took place at Maheshwaram Mandal Parishat office here on Tuesday. Krishna Reddy conducted a review meeting on drinking water crisis in the mandal along with MPTC members, sarpanches and officials.

Speaking on the occasion, Koona Yadaiah alleged that the officials were not informing the TRS leaders about the programmes they were taking up. Responding on it, Krishna Reddy said that it was not a party meeting to express their grievances but was a review meeting on drinking water problem.

Angered Yadaiah lashed out at the MLA saying that he was not bothered about the problems of the party leaders. Reacting sharply on the criticism of Yadaiah, Krishna Reddy said, “Everybody knows about you (Yadaiah). You worked as a sarpanch and MPTC for 10 years.

What did you do to the people? Don’t do thamashas in front of me.” Sarpanchs, MPTCs and officials left the hall when pandemonium took place while Yadaiah retorted harshly at the MLA.

After coming out the meeting hall, TRS leaders Hanmagalla Chandraiah, Wakf Board former chairman Sameer and other leaders told the MLA that the behavior the of officials present was not good.

They said, “It is not correct on the part of the MLA. You insulted the party leaders in front of the officials. We are continuing in the party by killing our soul, though you did nothing to the constituency. We will lodge a complaint with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and IT Minister KT Rama Rao on this issue.”

The MLA furiously reacted over the party leaders allegations saying that it was up to them. The MLA also raised his hand to beat the party leaders but the police and other leaders interfered and sent the MLA away from there.

Even in the absence of MLA, the party leaders Gattupally Sarpanch Rakesh Reddy and Chandraiah indulged in verbal war. However, the episode did not go well with party cadre in Maheshwaram mandal.
