Hyderabad: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists staged a protest in front of the Commissionerate of School Education against the State government’s decision of postponement of Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) on Wednesday. They demanded that the government hold the examination as per the prior schedule.

Addressing the protesters, ABVP state secretary Ayyappa said the aspirants of TET were badly affected by the postponement of examination as they were preparing for the exam by taking couching in centres paying thousands of rupees fees.

“The government ruined the hopes of thousands of students aspiring to become teachers, by postponing the TET even as 19,000 teacher posts are lying vacant all over the State,” Ayyappa said and demanded that the government issue a notification of DSC in the first week of May and start recruitment process to fill the vacancies.
