Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Wednesday accepted the invitation from his Maharashtra counterpart for inking historical agreements for the construction of barrages across River Godavari and its tributaries, in a meeting to be held on March 8 in Mumbai.

Under the proposed agreement, Telangana government would construct four barrages - one on Pranahita River at Tummidihatti in Adilabad district and three on Godavari River at Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla under Kaleshwaram project in Karimnagar district.

The Maharashtra government would construct barrages on Penganga at Rajapeta and Pinpahad. Chandrashekar Rao, Harish Rao and officials would leave for Mumbai on March 7.
