ECIL to supply ballot slip systems
For the upcoming Khammam Municipal Corporation elections in Telangana state, the Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) will provide 40 printer-based accessory systems that interface with the Control Unit (CU) and Ballot Unit (BU) of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
Hyderabad: For the upcoming Khammam Municipal Corporation elections in Telangana state, the Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) will provide 40 printer-based accessory systems that interface with the Control Unit (CU) and Ballot Unit (BU) of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
The VVPAT system prints the voter’s choice on a thermal paper that shows serial number, name and election symbol of the contesting candidate, who the voter voted for.
The Printed Ballot Slips is visible to the voter for a period of 7 seconds after the voter presses the button on the Ballot Unit (BU). The printed Ballot Slip gets automatically cut in the VVPAT unit and falls into the sealed Ballot Slips Compartment. This facility will help voters to get clarity about their choice.
