Hyderabad: Stating that it was the responsibility of the Speaker to save democracy, Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy on Friday demanded that S Madhusudhana Chary implement the anti-defection law against TDP MLAs for joining TRS without resigning from their membership.

Addressing a press conference here, Kishan Reddy said, "It appears that the Speaker has given notices to MLAs for name sake. Instead, he should implement the anti-defection law against MLAs. Saving democracy is the responsibility of the Speaker, and he should save democracy.” The BJP leader alleged that the government was afraid of holding Assembly session in the state.

Kishan Reddy criticised the government’s proposal of constructing new offices for Telangana. He said that 44 per cent of the office space has been occupied by Andhra Pradesh government and after 10 years they would be vacated.
