A total of 150 students from different places participated in the 13th MS Murthi Memorial Art Competitions organised by the Andhra Academy of Arts for at Sri M S Murthi Lalit Kala Art Gallery at Mutyalampadu on Sunday. Competitions were also held for the drawing teachers as a mark of encouragement and motivation to them.

Competitions were also held for the drawing teachers as a mark of encouragement and motivation to them.

Speaking on the occasion, MV Sai Babu, secretary of the Andhra Academy of Arts, Muthyalampadu, said that the pursuit of drawing gained more significance these days in view of the greater importance being given to creative abilities of individuals in professions and organisations. He described the participation by students as encouraging and impressive.

Sai Babu said that the competitions were held in three categories for students of schools, colleges and teachers. Prize distribution function will be held on March 27. The same day, an art exhibition and felicitation to eminent artists will also be held.
