A coffee table book ‘Goddess of Folk’ was launched by Vimala Narasimhan, First Lady of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh at the Salar Jung Museum on Tuesday. The book is published by the Kakatiya Heritage Trust. B V Papa Rao, trustee, Kakatiya Heritage Trust said that it was appropriate to launch the book on Women’s Day to commemorate the warrior women.

The photographers who contributed to the book were given a CD of the old photographs along with the restored ones. Papa Rao informed the gathering that the Kakatiya Trust has already brought out a book on Kakatiya Dynasty and wishes to bring out more books on the culture and heritage of Telangana.

Later, a photo exhibition was inaugurated by Vimala Narasimhan. B Narsing Rao, the chief editor of ‘Goddess of Folk’ said that he still cannot believe that the work is out as a lot of people worked day and night for the last four months.
