The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is all set to develop 20 parks in the city as a part of 100 days action plan. The GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy instructed Biodiversity officials to take up the works pertaining to parks on war footing and complete them by April 30.

The GHMC has decided to take this endeavour as top priority. Citing this summer, the works are going on at the places were sufficient water is available. “The GHMC has started works pertaining to parks at Saraswathi Nagar colony, Uppal circle, BDL colony and Mamathanagar colony and they are in final stage in LB Nagar circle and in another 10 days Rail Vihar in circle-11, Venkateshwar Rao colony, circle 15, Santosh colony phase-II in Circle 16, Jyothi Nagar colony in circle 17 and LIG colony in Circle 13,” said Janardhan Reddy.

“Landscaping avenue plantation, flower plants are being taken up in these parks to create a pleasant atmosphere to the visitors,” he added. The GHMC commissioner instructed concerned officials to develop 20 parks in the stipulated time. He said that after completion of these parks the maintenance will be handed over to the Residential Welfare Associations (RWA) and appealed to these organisations to join hands for the cause.
