GHMC to take on open garbage pits

As part of the 100 Days Action Plan, the GHMC will tackle open garbage dumping sites. The announcement came from GHMC Commissioner Dr B Janardhan Reddy on Monday, who said that the efforts will be directed towards the ‘Swachh Hyderabad’ initiative for the campaign.

The Commissioner said that currently of a total 1,116 open Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVP’s) 289 GVP’s were reduced in various circles. A number of innovative measures were taken by the circle Deputy Commissioners, Zonal Commissioners and Assistant Medical Officers of Health that includes organising rallies using drum beats and placards, involving RWAs and more.
