World renowned spiritual leader Her Holiness Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, affectionately known to her devotees across the globe as "Amma," is undertaking a 'Bharat yatra.' Amma is setting out on this Yatra primarily to reach out to the poor and needy and spread the message of love and serve, besides blessing the large community of her devotees.
As part of the national ‘Bharat Yatra’, Her Holiness Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, affectionately known as “Amma” will be in the city on Friday and Saturday to shower her blessings on the large devotee community present in both the Telugu states.
Amma during her stay in Hyderabad at the Mata Amritanandamayi Math in East Marredpally will distribute educational scholarships - 'Vidyamritam' to 1,000 more students; will aid 500 widows and destitute through the pension scheme 'Amrita Nidhi' and will release a souvenir "Amritaarpanam - 2016".
She will hold satsang, bhajans, meditations and will be available for individual darshan to devotees from 10 am onwards. In addition, as part of the ‘Amrita SerVe’, Amma will be adopting two villages, one each State - Kodur in Medak district in Telangana and Gudipaticheruvu in Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh.
Amma believes empowerment of the village can be accomplished only through the empowerment of women at home. As part of this, volunteers of the Mata Amritanandamayi Math will provide the women of the villages with basic education, vocational training and address their healthcare needs.
