The Awadh food festival at ‘Feast’ – the 24-hour dining space at Sheraton Hyderabad could have been yet another Nawabi food fare that can, anyway never go wrong in the city of Nizams. What added to the allure was the vast spread that explored the entire gamut of Awadh cuisine created by specialty chef, who rustled up the recipes just the way they should be.
Awadhiana – The Awadh food festival at ‘Feast’ – the 24-hour dining space at Sheraton Hyderabad could have been yet another Nawabi food fare that can, anyway never go wrong in the city of Nizams. What added to the allure was the vast spread that explored the entire gamut of Awadh cuisine created by specialty chef, who rustled up the recipes just the way they should be.
‘Feast’ is surely becoming a popular lunch destination and a happening dinner place and the elaborate décor created especially for the festival at the entrance adds the royal touch and the tastefully displayed spices and condiments that make the Indian food tasty, robust and colourful is amazing too.
On the menu is a huge spread of kebabs to start with – that keeps changing on a daily basis. Kakori, Seekh, galouti, chicken malai tikka, fish tikki, tangdi kebab and so on, amazingly succulent and the right bit tasty (and spicy) to appeal to the Cyberabad diners, who come in leaving the grueling day behind, and looking forward to a wholesome dinner.
On the main course are the likes of the Raan - the king of all cuisines that tastes heavenly and the regular suspects like murgh mussallam, chilman biryani, warqui paratha, khasta paratha, kheema and gilafi paratha, naan, kulchas – what works for the festival is the love and care in conceptualising the menu that is indeed a feast fit for the kings.
When the food is Nawabi then the desserts may pretty well be a feast onto themselves. There’s the Jalebi rabri, gulab jamun that’s coated with coconut, gulab ki kheer and more, and to wash it all down, there is the masala tea for the neo-nawabs. Awadhiana menu will be available during lunch and dinner till March 23 at Feast, Sheraton Hyderabad.
