Hyderabad bids adieu to KJ Anand
With two decades in the entertainment industry, Anand Prem Sagar aka KJ Anand was instrumental in bringing in the karaoke scene here in Hyderabad; it’s a name you cannot miss if you are a part of the singing troupe. Karaoke Jockey (KJ) Anand passed away in his sleep on the morning of March 16. The energy he brought to the party scene to the city will be missed by many.

Karaoke Jockey (KJ) Anand passed away in his sleep on the morning of March 16. The energy he brought to the party scene to the city will be missed by many.
Anand was most known for his karaoke nights on Thursdays at 10 Downing Street (10D), Begumpet. The energy he brought onto the dance floor with his voice was a reverberating joy to the night. His personality got people to feel at home around him. He also is known for setting up acoustic sessions for many of the lounges and coffee houses in the city.
Anand was a person who gave a platform to many artistes to show off their talents while earning a buck. He owned an event management company Event Uno through which he held the annual Kroakfest. His accomplishments in the entertainment industry are not just one or two, but dozens to say the least.
Apart from 10D, he was also associated with places like Mystique at Marigold Hotel, Via Milano and Free Flow Traffic Bar to name a few. “Karaoke nights have lost their charm. It was his booming voice, which many of us associate fun with,” says Sidhart, a regular to the Thursday Karaoke nights at 10D.
