Today we are juggling different activities along with a hectic full-time job, staying fit can be a challenge. One can stick to a good fitness and diet plan to maintain a good health. Here, are some tips to stay healthy.

  • Take sunlight. It helps synthesise vitamin D3 in our skin. Soak in at least an hour of sunlight.
  • Avoid leaving food overnight and eating it the next day, as it loses a lot of its nutrient value. Freshly cooked food is the best. Reheating it also destroys nearly all the nutrients in food.
  • Go for regular health check-ups, including blood sugar, pap smear, cholesterol and breast cancer. A disease is best cured when detected at the earliest.
  • Avoid late-night snacking.
  • Lemon juice is a cure for acidity.
  • Explore various grains! We’re lucky to be in a country that doesn’t solely depend on wheat and rice. Even within rice, there are several varieties. Look to millets for an interesting variety. They are also rich in B vitamins and other micronutrients.
  • Learn breathing techniques. This is especially important for those living in polluted cities, and leading stressful lives.
  • Skip the sev and puri in your bhel if you want to eat healthy chaat
  • Avoid grains and sugary foods for an hour after exercising. Otherwise, your body will break down the food you have eaten rather than the fat stored in your body.
  • Eat a salad before each meal to avoid over eating the grains and to ensure you get enough veggies!
