As part of the awareness towards World Sparrow Day, which is observed on March 20, a bikethon and cyclethon rally was conducted from Charminar to Nehru Zoological Park on Saturday.

As part of the awareness towards World Sparrow Day, which is observed on March 20, a bikethon and cyclethon rally was conducted from Charminar to Nehru Zoological Park on Saturday.
The Environment Minister Jogu Ramanna flagged off the rally at 7.30 am in the presence of Adan Sajid, roller skate athlete Anup Kumar Yama, Dr G Chandra Shekar Reddy CCF/CF, Wildlife Management Circle, TS Subhadra Devi, Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Laxman Asst-Curator-II, Muralidhar, Asst-Curator-III and HM Hanifulla PRO/ZEO, Nihar, Director of ARPF and volunteers of the organisation.
About 30 volunteers participated in the bikethon and 50 in the cycle rally. In addition, about 250 students participated in the walkathon that was held for the cause. There were drawing competitions conducted for schoolchildren in which about 200 students participated and prizes were distributed to the winners.
