The property tax department of Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) is racing against time. It’s immediate priority of recovering at least Rs 40 crore from both current and outstanding dues. And they intend to achieve the goal by Match 31.According to Akbar Ali, Superintendent of the department, they are sending reminders to residents, commercial establishment, State and Centre Government offices and all those who were yet to clear up their property taxes.

To make the people to respond positively, the department has issued 5000 red notices to all those who had defaulted in excess of Rs 20,000. To reach all sections, mobile van is going around all the eight wards in the SCB limits urging the people to pay taxes in time and avoid punitive action under the Cantonment Act 2006.. He said that as on the Monday, the drive had helped recover Rs 27 crore
