The Telangana State RTC (TSRTC) employees union observed a Maha Dharana at Dharna Chowk in Indira Park on Tuesday.The list of demands by the members includes allocation of Rs 1,000 crores in the budget merger of the TSRTC on par with government employees, provision of double bedroom houses, bifurcation of RTC in full, payment of DA arrears and encashment of leave facility, retirement benefits to employees who retired on or after 01-04-2013, purchase of new buses in place of rental buses, prevention and punishing the illegal transport operators in the city and State and solving other residual issues.

T Narasimhan, president All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) said, “Upto 57,000 employees are working in the State of which 17,000 are women. Representations given to government authorities from April 30 to June 14 last year for strengthening TSRTC have gone in vain; the issues remain unresolved till date.” The participants in the dhrana were SD Aziz Pasha, S Babu, K Bhasker Rao, K Raj Reddy, V Muralidhar and a large number of employees that included both serving and retired members.
