Are you the kind who wishes to have a nose job for whatever reasons and believe in experimentation? Ever wondered how you would look with a sculpted nose or perhaps minus that extra flab that has always made you uncomfortable? Keen on going in for a body or reconstructive breast surgery?

Blessed you are because these are no longer beyond your reach. This dream can come true right in the neighbourhood and that too with just a simple click, thanks to the pioneering efforts of a Guntur-born Hyderabad settled plastic surgeon.

Enter, VECTRA XT, a 3D photographic simulation that is making its debut here. The state-of-the-art equipment will allow the patient to see how he/she looks post-surgery even before actually going in for the medical treatment. “It is the sign of things to come. Consultation and convincing the ‘patient’ takes more time than the procedure, but then that is worth the wait.

The patient gets an idea of what the potential surgery can do for them,” points out Dr Y Venkata Ramana, founder-director of Contours Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Center, which introduced the innovation that is the in-thing abroad here on Thursday.

“The machine takes high resolution photos, allowing one to view changes from every angle giving them the most informative images of procedures prior to the surgery,” he explains in a matter-of-fact tone. Pointing out on the advantages of VECTRA XT, the globe-trotting plastic surgeon says “this idea was conceived during my visits to Amsterdam and other European nations.

It helps the patients to opt what exactly they want from various options from among a multitude of options. This 3D solution helps in computerised measurements that help patients to understand their current condition and the most realistic post-surgery view.”

“It can be difficult to visualise what type of results laser procedures might provide for combating wrinkles, acnes and pigment, or face enhancement. This state-of-the art system is totally revolutionary as it allows an individual to envision these results prior to treatment,” he says on the advantages it brings along.

The surgery, as such, does not take much time and it all depends on ‘the structure of one’s nose and how the person wants it shaped.’Are aesthetic procedures popular among men? “Yes, now-a-days a lot of men are opting for it. There has been a tremendous growth. Today, everybody is conscious of one’s looks and body.

When it comes to hair transplant, men are more in number but on the other hand when it comes to face enhancement women outnumber men,” says the doctor who has been practicing for 13 years.
