More than 500 members representing upto 75 jewellers association of the State threatened the Government with total Market shutdown in a meet on Friday. In addition, associations warned of a mass rally of one lakh jewellers on April 5.
The meet was jointly organised by the Telangana Bullion Gems and Jewellery Federation (TBGJF) and the Secunderabad Gold Silver Jewellery and Diamond Merchants Association as the strike entered its 31st day.
Members asserted that the strike will continue till the government completely rolls backs excise on Jewellery. The meeting was chaired by TBGJF President Jagdish Prashad Verma, General Secretary Manepally Rama Rao and Treasurer Suresh Bhonsle
