The Minister of Commercial Taxes T Srinivas Yadav participated along with 5,000 jewellers of the State for a mass rally from General Bazaar to Clock Tower in Secunderabad on Monday.

The rally was organised by the Telangana Bullion Gems and Jewellery Federation (TBGJF) as the jewellery strike hit 35th day.Lending his support to the jewellery associations, Srinivas Yadav said, “The strike entering 35th day is a major cause of concern for both Central and State government as it has rendered many people jobless, who are directly or indirectly dependent on the Jewellery Business.”

Yadav appealed to the Central govt to draft an amicable solution to the problem and create a healthy environment for trade and business in the country. Murli Krishan Spokesperson of the Federation said they planned to continue with the strike till the government completely rolls back excise duty on jewellery.
