A star attraction for writers and poets of the city, the fifth edition of the ‘Writers Carnival’ is all set to get underway at Saptaparni in Banjara Hills on April 16. Organised by Nivasini Publishers, the Carnival is an initiative to engage writers, poets and authors and form a community in the culturally rich city of Hyderabad with a rich evening of poetry, workshops and readings.

A star attraction for writers and poets of the city, the fifth edition of the ‘Writers Carnival’ is all set to get underway at Saptaparni in Banjara Hills on April 16. Organised by Nivasini Publishers, the Carnival is an initiative to engage writers, poets and authors and form a community in the culturally rich city of Hyderabad with a rich evening of poetry, workshops and readings.

As part of the attractions lined up for the event, fiction writer from Mumbai, Rochelle Potkar will be in conversation with renowned journalist, Saima Afreen discussing poetry and her Potkar’s book, ‘Four Degrees of Separation’.Widely acclaimed poet, G Akila will facilitate a workshop at the event. Other attractions include a ‘Writing Haibun’ (a Japanese genre of poetry) and workshops for edition, fiction, journalism and liternature.

In addition, the event will see the launch of an anthology titled ‘Lakdi-ka-pul – the poetry bridge’ a collection of poems by poets of Twin City Poetry Club, Hyderabad, published by The Blue Stencil, an initiative of Nivasini Publishers.
The Carnival will conclude with readings in mother language, which will be hosted in association with Naa Telugu Pustakalu, an initiative of Uma Kiranam.
