Free surgery for those suffering from cleft lip
The Basavatarakam Smile train Center (BSTC) an initiative of Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital &Research Institute would be offering free surgery for people suffering from cleft lip and palate till April 16 as part of the cleft week that the hospital is observing.

Dr Mukund Reddy, consultant plastic surgeon advised the parents to ensure that their children receive treatment within a year of their birth to enable them to speak properly. Nandamuri Balakrishna, Chairman, BIACH&RI distributed gifts to children who underwent surgical interventions and also announced that those children who come forward for surgery (total correction that includes cleft lip and palate) during this week would be given a special incentive of Rs 5,000 which would be given as fixed deposit.
